About RMHA

Runnymede Mental Health Association is a registered charity, founded in 1977, based in Egham, Surrey, and a founder member of the Interminds group of mental health service providers.

Our aim is to give social support, companionship, counselling and advice to those who have, or are recovering from, some form of mental illness.

Facts about Mental Health to bear in mind

1 in 4 of us will suffer from mental health problems at some time in our lives.

Mental ill health in the workplace costs £6.2 billion a year.

As much as 40% of all sickness absence is attributable to mental or emotional disturbance.

Nationally, 85% of people with a psychiatric disability are unemployed.

At least 30-40% of people with mental health problems are capable of holding down a job.

The Virginia Lodge Day Centre

We also run a Day Centre, VIRGINIA LODGE, which is open from Monday to Friday, between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm.

We are supported by Runnymede Borough Council, Surrey County Council Social Services, Bournewood NHS Trust, Royal Holloway and Bedford New Colleges, as well as local companies in the Egham area.

We offer users the opportunity to get involved in art and craft activities, as well as a range of sports and other external activities.
